Delivery zones - regions that follow the same certain rules of shipping and taxes. This means that you can create different shipping and taxation charges for countries, states, cities or even districts and streets. Once created, delivery zones apply particular rates according to customers' addresses. That is, the closest match of the existing delivery zones is referenced to the customers address. If no match is found, the default zone rates are applied.
When creating a delivery zone you have to define its area, shipping rates and taxation. To create new delivery zone:
Defining location
To define zone coverage:
Note: You can select multiple countries by holding the Ctrl or Shift key. Or you can select countries by clicking one of the regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania or European Union.
Defining shipping rates
Shipping rates determine various pricing according to order weight, value or delivery time. Shipping rates can be defined manually or you can use real-time shipping methods such as USPS, FedEx, etc. (see "Settings -> Configuration -> Shipping methods").
To add a custom shipping service:
If you have several shipping services, you can reorder them to define the way they are displayed to customers. To change the order, simply drag and drop your shipping services.
To edit or delete an existing shipping service, click the appropriate icon.
Defining tax rates
To define taxes:
Note: Taxes are globally created in the "Settings -> Taxes" section. If there are no taxes created yet, please go to the "Taxes" section.
The default zone is the main zone, which is applied to shipping and taxation if no other delivery zones are applicable to a certain address. You can manage default zone shipping services as discussed in the section above. However, default zone doesn't have any tax rates.
If you want to restrict users from particular countries, you can do that by disabling them in the "Settings -> Configuration -> Customers" section.
If you need to edit a delivery zone, select it in the delivery zones tree. The "Countries and States" tab opens. You can manage any zone's parameter as in the "Create a delivery zone" section.
To delete a delivery zone, select the zone and click the "Remove" link.
