Define Product Details

Product details are divided into several tabs, which contain information on particular product's details. To open a particular section, click on the necessary tab.

Note: If you are adding a new product, all the details are not displayed until you save the product.

Things you can do

Main details

  • Availability - enabled means that a product is visible in your e-store.
  • Product name - the name of the product.
  • SKU - a stock keeping unit which is a specific number designating one specific product.
  • Short description - a brief description about the product. Short description is displayed in the product list page.
  • Long description - a detailed product description which is displayed in the product details page.
  • Product type - product type defines whether the product is shippable or downloadable.
  • Website address - products website address if applicable.
  • Manufacturer - producer of the product.
  • Keywords - words or phrases that will be used to help users to find the product.
  • Mark as featured product - mark the checkbox to set the product status to featured.
  • Allow fractional quantities - mark the checkbox to enable fractional product quantities (e.g. 2.2, 1.9, etc.).

Product specification

The "Product Specification" section includes user defined attributes. You can create attributes in the category's "Attributes" section.

A few demonstrational attributes:

Stock, pricing and shipping

  • Items in stock - the number of product items available.
  • Shipping weight - weight of the product in Metric or English units.
  • Minimum order quantity - a minimum number of product items allowed to order at a time.
  • Shipping surcharge - an additional shipping charge (usually for oversized items).
  • Requires separate shipment - mark the checkbox to require separate shipment for the product.
  • Qualifies for free shipping - mark the checkbox to allow free shipping.

    Note: Also make sure to enable free shipping for particular delivery zones.

  • Allow back-ordering - mark the checkbox to allow back-ordering the product.

Top

Product's info tab provides brief information about the product including its creation date and purchase report.
